Crystal Wu
Based between Melbourne and Shanghai, Crystal Wu is an emerging contemporary artist whose practice is shaped by a sensibility that moves between Eastern subtlety and Western abstraction. With a background spanning over two decades in fashion design and production, her transition into painting brings a distinctive sensitivity to colour, materiality, rhythm, and emotional structure.
Her works are driven by instinctive gestures and emotional colour collisions, often inspired by fleeting moments encountered through travel, memory, landscape, and daily life. Working primarily in abstraction, Wu explores the tension between softness and strength - allowing paintings to carry both intimacy and energy within a single visual language.
Since 2023, Wu's works have been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions across Melbourne, Paris, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Shanghai. In 2025, she was selected for the 60th Anniversary Camberwell Art Show in Melbourne, and works from recent exhibitions have been acquired by private collectors internationally.
